Charles Darwin School raises money for partnership students in Zanzibar (3) View gallery 0 comments Students from Biggin Hill have raised £500 for a school in Zanzibar. Charles Darwin School held “mudstacle” events on Monday (May 7) where almost 80 students, parents, staff and Biggin Hill residents took part in nuclear races. By doing so – the Year 10 students enabled their partnership school, Kojito Upele, to fund much needed resources. Sixth formers from Charles Darwin will visit Zanzibar in July to collaborate with students and to carry out community work. Organiser of the trip to eastern Africa, Miss Miller, said: “We would like to be able to take some resources for the school and to support our teaching. “Any little extra help will make such a difference to this community.” She added that she was “so proud” of the students who took part in the mud run and that “it was genuinely amazing with such a positive atmosphere”. The nuclear race course was in Brentwood Essex where the Biggin Hill community took part in muddy obstacles including a death slide and zip wire.
