Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina says Israel has violated human rights by using force against Palestinians.
Her condemnation came when her Turkish counterpart Binali Yıldırım
phoned her on Tuesday evening, her Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told
the media.
Karim said the Turkish prime minister called Hasina at 7:30pm and they talked nearly 15 minutes.
Hasina also expressed anguish over shifting of the US embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv, which coincided with deadly protests in Gaza-Israel border on Monday.
The prime minister reiterated Bangladesh’s complete support to independent Palestine.
Her press secretary said the Yildrim invited Hasina to attend the OIC Special Summit on Palestine to be held in the Turkish city of Istanbul on May 18.
Hasina welcomed this initiative, terming it a ‘timely step’.
At least 60 Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire during violent clashes on Monday on the Gaza-Israel border coinciding with the opening of the US embassy in Jerusalem.
At least 2,400 others were wounded in the bloodiest day in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since the 2014 Gaza war.
