bayern Munich sported their new kits for the 2018/2019 season during their last league match of the season vs. Vfb Stuttgart
just four days after it was officially unveiled. For the first time in
quite a while, the home kit features navy blue shorts to compliment the
red jersey and socks, but some fans are not happy about that.
During Bayern’s match vs. Stuttgart over the weekend, a
group of Bayern’s ultras were seen displaying a banner in the Allianz
Arena’s Südkurve that showed disapproval of the blue shorts. The banner
read:
Our club colors are red and white / what’s up with this blue kit shite?
At first thought, it seems like somewhat of an
overreaction from some of Bayern’s most faithful fans, but there’s a
reason why they’re so against the color blue. Their local rivals, 1860
Munich, who play in the 2. Liga, have always sported a predominantly
blue kit, with varying shades throughout the years. The light blue
goalkeeper’s kit that Sven Ulreich wore during the Stuttgart match was almost exactly the same shade of blue as 1860 Munich’s current kits.
You be the judge of this one.
A cute photo, but the blue is still strikingly close to 1860 colors...

Although there are considerable differences in the shades
of blue, it makes sense as to why the group of ultras is completely
against any sort of blue in the kit whatsoever. Bayern’s supporters are
no strangers to voicing their opinions in a peaceful manner to great
effect, so perhaps they can convince the club to switch back to either
red or white shorts..
