Tunisian labor union considers response to Trumps Jerusalem embassy move

The main Tunisian labour union is
considering responding to the US’s decision to move its embassy in
Israel to Jerusalem by preventing US ships from using Tunisian ports.
According to Mohammed Abbas, Assistant
General Secretary of the local Labor Union in Tunisia, “The union is
considering a proposal to prevent the offloading and shipment of
American ships entering Tunisian ports as a way to condemn US President
Donald Trump’s decision to transfer US embassy to Jerusalem.”

Abbas’s statements to Anadolu came on the sidelines of a public meeting held by the local union in Sfax on Sunday.
Abbas stressed that the Union is waiting
for “our trade union bodies to issue a decision so that we could
coordinate between us and put this proposal into practice.”
Abbas did not mention the need for the
approval of his country’s government or sovereign bodies, as a prelude
to the implementation of this proposal.
